Environment and Its Role

Bismillah
Environment is one of the most important component in our life. Kumar explained that Environment may be broadly understood to mean our surroundings. It can be divided into non-living (ex :sunshine, water, climate, temperature, etc)  and living components (ex : producer, consumer and detritivor).  The Environment provides resources which support life on the earth and which also help in the growth of a relationship of interchange between living organisms and the environment in which they live.

Environment has main roles as explained by  Suparmoko dan Suparmok in Ekonomika Lingkungan 2000, they are :

1). As source of raw materials to be processed into finished good such as processing log to be furniture or to be consumed directly  such as supplying oxygen for animal and human breathe, supplying water for life needs and supplying animal to be eaten.

2). Assimilator or as own waste manage seperti such as carbon absorbing by plant,  nitrogen absorbing by  insect for breathing and also lake assimilation because of waste.

3). As amenity. Environment provides values which make people feel happy. The values are aesthetics value, socio-culture value, economy value, religious and spitiyual values. Environment provides beauty nature which will affect many benefits. From beauty nature will affect aesthetic value which has the potential economy benefit and affect people socio culture. Environment also provides spiritual and religious values like  Qurban animal for Ied Adha and provides beauty nature landscape for  adimiring  Greatness of Allah.
